1. Welcome to Knack
By creating an account or using Knack ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. We may update these Terms; we'll notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice.
2. What Knack is — and isn't
Knack is an AI-powered psychology companion that listens to conversations you record, transcribes them, and surfaces observations. Knack is not a substitute for licensed mental health care, medical advice, legal advice, or professional therapy. If you are in crisis, please contact 988 (US) or your local emergency services.
3. Your account
You must be at least 13 years old to use Knack. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Your responsibility for what you record
Laws on recording conversations vary by state and country. Many US states require all parties to consent ("two-party consent"); others only require one party. You are solely responsible for understanding and complying with the recording laws that apply to you. Knack is a tool — how you use it is your responsibility.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Knack offers a free tier and paid "Plus" tiers (currently $9.99/month or $79/year). Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Pricing may change with 30 days notice.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) use the Service to record people without their lawful consent; (b) use Knack to harass, defame, or harm others; (c) attempt to reverse-engineer the Service; (d) scrape or resell our content; (e) violate any law in your use of Knack.
7. Content you provide
You retain ownership of any audio, transcripts, and text you submit. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process this content solely to operate Knack for you (transcription, analysis, insight generation). We do not use your data to train AI models. See our

8. AI outputs — accuracy disclaimer
Knack's insights are generated by large language models and may be incorrect, biased, or misleading. Do not rely on Knack's output as fact, professional advice, or evidence in disputes. Always exercise your own judgment.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days unless retention is required by law.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KNACK AND ITS OPERATORS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PRIOR TWELVE MONTHS.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration where permitted.
